Mentis Mundi is a collaborative world-building and fiction project that publishes reader-submitted short stories, novellas, poems, in-world interviews and articles, among other works of fiction, in order to explore its setting.
We offer $100 for short stories and $150 for novellas.
We're only interested in human storytelling and craft.
Absolutely NO works written, translated, developed, or assisted by generative models, LLMs, or any other "AI" tools will be accepted.
Any work of fiction suspected of being written by "AI" will be rejected outright. Multiple submissions could result in a permanent ban.
Any accepted work of fiction found to be written by "AI" will be permanently removed and its submitter banned.
Well written works of fiction, convientently formatted for on-screen reading, which take place within Mentis Mundi's setting.

When a story is published on the site, it becomes "canon" to the continuity of the setting. This means other people may use aspects of your story — terms, locations, events, maybe even certain characters — for their stories. However, stories that are direct sequels to another writer's story will very rarely, if ever, be accepted.
Some published stories may effect changes to the world section of the site, reflecting the evolving state of the setting.
